Welcome
Welcome to the COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING BEST PRACTICE (CHNBP) website. This website provides information on research that has been done by community health nurses in Western Australia over the past 5 years. It also provides state wide, national and international links to information related to best practice. The purpose of this website is to provide a forum to present and promote the many facets of research and development and recognise its importance in the community health nursing three-way partnership - research, education and practice.
What is Community Health Nursing?
Community health nursing is defined as the nursing care of clients from a preventive, promotive and protective primary health care philosophy. It is acknowledged that community nurses in the ambulatory acute/chronic diseases have different foci but at times the focus of both groups may intersect with a primary health care approach.
